An extension or a renovation is the one time the walls are open, and it is the right moment to get the electrics designed properly rather than patched onto what was there. We handle the whole electrical side of the job, working alongside your builder, architect and kitchen designer.
That starts with a drawing: every socket, switch, light, data point and circuit marked up so you can change your mind while it is still cheap to. Then first fix, with the cabling run for lighting, power, heating controls, networking and any smart home system, so nothing has to be surface-mounted later. A new or extended consumer unit where the existing board cannot take the extra load, and bonding and earthing brought up to current regulations.
Second fix is where the finish matters: fittings set straight, concealed LED in joinery, switches where your hand naturally goes, outdoor power and lighting for the garden side of the extension.
Everything is tested, certified and notified to Building Control where required under our NICEIC registration, and you get as-fitted drawings and a handover pack at the end.

Common questions
When should I bring an electrician into an extension?
Before the plans are final, ideally. We can mark up the electrical layout on the architect's drawings so the builder knows where everything goes before first fix.
Will my existing fuse board cope with an extension?
Often not. We assess the existing supply and board and tell you up front if it needs upgrading, priced as part of the same job.
Do you work with my builder?
Yes. Most of our extension work is alongside builders and architects, and we fit around the build programme.
